The Role
We are looking to recruit a full time ABA trained Teaching Assistant to join our outstanding, mainstream School from September 2023. You will have experience of working with children with complex difficulties and be willing to undertake appropriate training, under the supervision of an ABA consultant, in order to carry out the student’s intensive behaviour programme (namely ABA).
Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in schools under the supervision of an ABA consultant. You will be expected to attend meetings, liaise with professionals, record data and prepare resources for 1:1 work.
The successful candidate will be part of the Personalisation Team, led by the SENCO, who will share and learn from one another as the School continues to grow. They will share the School’s vision and the belief that all young people can achieve at high levels.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting Teaching and Learning
- To support the teaching of English, Maths and Science and within other subjects as required
- To help support the student in mixed ability groups, ensuring they meet the objectives of the lesson
- To plan, prepare and deliver small group/whole class learning under appropriate supervision
- To ensure that resources and displays are organised and available to promote a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
- To ensure the classroom present a stimulating environment through the display of student’s work and other exemplar materials
Supporting Progress and Attainment
- To promote the inclusion of all students in the school curriculum
- To attend internal and external meetings as directed
- To communicate with parents/carers to celebrate successes and inform them of issues promptly when appropriate
- To attend SEND review meetings and contribute to Education and Health Care Plans as required
Supporting Behaviour and Safety
- To ensure the absolute safety of all students on and off site
- To model and enforce excellent standards of behaviour within and beyond the faculty in line with School policy
- To attend year group meetings as required
