Your opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a hardworking, enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to provide an enhanced cleaning service for the School catering department. To diligently undertake the cleaning of the service and dining hall areas, kitchen equipment and utensils, and sweep and mop the floors.
The role
- To undertake regular cleaning duties as specified by the Chef/Catering Supervisor
- Perform cleaning duties in a diligent, effective and efficient manner in order to deliver the expected standards of cleaning, within the allocated time frame
- Use cleaning resources, consumables and equipment with due care and attention, with emphasis on efficient, effective and safe use
- Maintain storage and refuse areas
- Comply with waste management and recycling
- Be responsible for safeguarding the health, safety and welfare of yourself and colleagues
- Undertake deep cleaning duties when necessary
- Comply with Hygiene standards and Health & Safety Regulations
- Prepare the cutlery, plates and cups for use
- Undertake occasional duties as instructed, including delivery, storage and basic preparation of stock
- Present yourself in a professional, well-groomed manner
- Demonstrate an ability to work quickly but efficiently and keep calm, under pressure
- Be an excellent team player
- Demonstrate exceptional timekeeping and reliability
- Have a committed and organised approach
- Have the ability to follow instructions
Catering experience is desirable, but we are always happy to train the right person
You will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
The details
Salary: £9.50 per hour
Working hours: 20 hours per week, across 5 days, term-time only
Hours of work: 12pm to 4pm (i.e. 4 hours per day) Monday to Friday
Closing date: 9.00am on 6th January 2023
Starting date: ASAP
