Hoe Valley School requires a Clerk (Governance Professional) to work with the Governing Body from September 2022

The Role

The Governors want to appoint a highly organised and self-motivated Clerk to join this Outstanding school. The Clerk is accountable to the Board of Governors, working effectively with the Chair of Governors and the Head Teacher. 

The Clerk will: 

  • Provide advice on governance, legal, constitutional and procedural matters
  • Proactively support the governing body and its committees in the conduct of their duties (e.g., organising meetings and producing / circulating / storing necessary documentation)
  • Manage information effectively in accordance with legal requirements
  • Ensure the governing body is properly constituted
  • The Clerk will support 10 governor meetings per year, plus various other ad-hoc responsibilities. Meetings are held in term time, and usually after school hours.

The Details:

Salary:  £ Competitive

Start date:  September 2022

Contract:  Part-time

Working hours:   The Clerk is paid through payroll for the hours worked, on a monthly basis
