The Work Ready Agenda at Hoe Valley School continues to meet or exceed statutory obligations in terms of Career Information Education Advice and Guidance. However, to enable the School to meet the Gatsby Benchmark 6, we are seeking a dynamic, energetic and enthusiastic Work Experience Coordinator to lead on all aspects of work experience, helping support and monitor meaningful placements for students across a range of curriculum areas.

Accountabilities

The post holder will report to the Head of Work Ready and Digital Skills Faculty

Core Responsibilities

The role requires the post holder to

● Organise work experience opportunities for Year 10 and Year 12 students

● Engage with local employers to establish and develop strong, long-standing relationships

● Site visit the employers to vet and induct them

● Be the first point of contact for students, parents/guardians and employers during the work placement period

● Have experience to carry out thorough risk assessments and conduct assessments of student progress while they are on work placement, as well as ensuring that accurate Health and Safety checks are carried out to ensure students are safe when out on placement

● Manage DBS checks for those employers

● Perform related tasks related to the Work Ready Agency, such as using those business community contacts to help organise careers talks and fairs

● Produce reports on KPIs relating to work experience placements

● Deputise for the Head of Work Ready programme

The Details

● Contract type:  Part-time and Permanent

● Salary:  £15k per annum (actual)

● Working hours: 24 hours per week, across 3 days i.e. 8 hours per day (excluding 30-minutes unpaid lunch)

● Start date:  2nd January 2024
