An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a full time Science Teacher.

Governors are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, inspirational and highly motivated teacher to join our successful Science department to teach across the ability range at KS3 and KS4 in the subject of your specialism. 

The successful candidate will be working with a team of 6 dedicated staff in a very motivating, forward-thinking environment. Our Science department consists of 7 fully equipped laboratories plus one demonstration room.

We welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers and experienced teachers who have a passion for education, and from applicants with the drive and commitment to deliver outstanding learning. In addition, applicants must:

• Be a qualified Science teacher;

• Have excellent oral and written communication skills;

• Be able to plan and deliver a creative and stimulating curriculum; and

• Have excellent classroom management skills with high expectations for achievements and behaviour.

You will work in a supportive and enthusiastic department that inspires both learners and colleagues to reach their full potential.

Islwyn High School is situated near Blackwood in Gwent. The school was purpose built in 2017 comprising a single three storey building. It’s modern design includes state of the art facilities for subjects such as Science and Technology, a full size sports hall, performance hall and music suite, as well as a floodlit 4G sports pitch and fitness suite.
