An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a full time Deputy Head of English Department and Teacher in Charge of Media Studies to join us, with experiences of teaching, or potential to teach, up to GCSE A* standard. 

Governors are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, inspirational and highly motivated  teacher to join our strong, forward-thinking, successful team. You will work in a supportive and enthusiastic department that inspires both learners and colleagues to reach their full potential. There will be the opportunity to shape and innovate our learners’ experience in collaboration with our Head of English.

Islwyn High School is situated near Blackwood in Gwent. The school was purpose built in 2017 comprising a single three storey building. It’s modern design includes state of the art facilities for subjects such as Science and Technology, a full size sports hall, performance hall and music suite, as well as a floodlit 4G sports pitch and fitness suite. IT and audio visual facilities available in all classrooms reflect significant investment in the teaching and learning environment for our pupils
