Hours: 35 per week term time only plus INSET days

Governors are seeking to appoint a Technician to join our friendly, hardworking team in our 21st Century school. The postholder will assist the Network Manager to provide excellent IT provision to support teaching and learning across the School. The postholder will assist in the running of the school's IT Network and provide technical support to a wide range of devices in use by staff and pupils in our school. The postholder will be required to provide hardware, software, cabling and other technical support, is expected to have a relevant level of IT knowledge, be self-motivated, proactive, have a friendly can-do attitude, and be able to work well in a team.

Our school operates in a mostly Microsoft Windows/ Apple and Google environment, but also cover anything from Desktop Support, Networking, Audio/Visual, Software Installation, IP Phones, Tablets, Maintenance and Monitoring. A working knowledge of basic server functions would be useful, although training will be provided

The successful candidate will be part of a team of Technicians providing technical support across many aspects of our school so we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who can offer expertise or interest in other areas.

This is an interesting role that may suit someone looking for a term time only role with flexible working hours. Applications are also invited from candidates who would like to be considered for this role on a part time basis.

Islwyn High School is situated near Blackwood in Gwent. The school was purpose built in 2017 comprising a single three storey building. It’s modern design includes state of the art facilities for subjects such as Science and Technology, a full size sports hall, performance hall and music suite, as well as a floodlit 4G sports pitch and fitness suite. IT and audio visual facilities available in all classrooms reflect significant investment in the teaching and learning environment for our pupils.
