The John of Gaunt School is looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Specific Purpose to join their team. Working as a member of staff within our Trust, you will be a part of a team and play an active role in ensuring the learning and development of all our young people.

The working hours for this role are expected to be 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

Some of your duties and responsibilities will include supporting a designated student with mobility needs to access learning. You will be required to support the student in moving around the school site in a wheelchair. Support the student ascending and descending stairs. To provide the student with the ability to be as independent as possible. The successful candidate will develop methods of promoting/reinforcing the students' self-esteem and independence. It is important that you are an excellent communicator, being able to liaise with Class Teachers and the Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator about progress to targets.

This role will involve contact with children and the post holder will be engaged in regulated activity relevant to children and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed.
