At Knaphill Lower School, we believe in having aspiration for every child and we do this by instilling values and a growth mindset whilst giving our children memorable, first-hand experiences, within a curriculum that prepares them for their own Bright Future. We also believe in helping our staff to find what gives them the most joy in school: we believe in helping staff to find ‘their thing’, by giving them the voice, skills, knowledge and support to make this a reality.

We are looking for a SENCo who:

  • Has a proven track record of raising attainment, either as a teacher or as an Inclusion Leader or SENCo.
  • Has an extensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Special Educational Needs; has experience of working with multiple agencies, completing CAFs, advising staff on a variety of issues, Provision maps, pupil assessment and staff training.
  • Is passionate about inclusion, personalised learning and committed to enhancing the life chances of all children.

  • Has high expectations of all pupils.
  • Can identify and devise innovative and effective intervention programs for pupils.
  • Is committed to ensuring that every child achieves the best possible outcomes.
  • Is able to foster positive relationships with children.
  • Is an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills and a sense of humour.
  • Is keen to work alongside a team of highly driven practitioners.
  • Has the SENCo award, or willing to train to achieve this.

In return we can offer you:

  • Approachable, supportive senior leadership team.
  • Clear pathways for personal development.
  • High quality training within the school and externally.
  • A friendly team with a strong ethos of working together to continually improve.
  • Excellent team of experienced support staff that assist in supporting the children’s learning.
  • Fantastic children who have a love of learning and excellent behaviour.
  • Supportive parents.
