At KGS, safeguarding is at the centre of school life, and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of pastoral care and child protection. We are seeking a proactive and highly organised School Administrator to support our safeguarding provision.

This is a key administrative role supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Assistant Head Lower School in ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and student welfare. You will be responsible for maintaining safeguarding records, including CPOMS, ensuring electronic registration during morning and afternoon registration and completing any necessary safeguarding administration on behalf of the safeguarding team.

The successful candidate must be able to multi-task and work to deadlines and demonstrate a pro-active approach to work and the initiative to complete tasks in a productive and timely manner. Previous experience working in a school or in a safeguarding environment is key, plus a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures and the ability to work with absolute tact and discretion.

A competitive salary and generous benefits accompany this role, and it is offered on a permanent contract, working 40 hours per week, 40 weeks per year. The role is based in school from Monday to Friday and the hours of work are 8:00 – 4:00.

The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday, 2nd June 2025. The school reserves the right to commence the interview process at any time prior to the closing date so early application is recommended.

Prior to interview, an online search will be conducted to identify any past or current incidents or issues that might affect your suitability to work with children and undertake this role. This is in line with guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education. Please note this online search will be carried out only on publicly available information and be limited to issues relating to your suitability to work with children and/or in a school environment. Issues that arise will not automatically be a bar to your employment at this school.

Kingston Grammar School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
