We are seeking to appoint a Science Technician in Chemistry to join our successful and friendly team of technicians in September 2025. The Science Department is split by subject, Chemistry, Physics and Biology, each with its own Head of Department and teaching staff. A team of technicians support the teaching staff providing technical support to each of the departments, as well as assisting each other across within the whole science faculty.
This role will provide support primarily to the Chemistry department but there may be the requirement to cover in Biology or Physics as part of the wider team of technicians. The Science Technician Chemistry takes instruction from the Senior Technician in the Chemistry department for all day-to-day matters and reports to the Team Leader Technician. The successful candidate will assist with preparation of all materials used for teaching as well as the day-to-day running of the Chemistry Prep room. This includes the preparation of practical’s, undertaking risk assessments and associated Health and Safety issues throughout the department.

The salary is based on the KGS Support Staff scales and will be dependent upon experience and scientific qualifications.
This is a full time permanent position. The hours are 40 per week from 8.30am - 4.30pm, working 36 weeks of the year including term time.
