SEND Teaching Assistant
- Fixed Term Contract until 31st August 2026, due to funding.
- 20 hours per week – Monday - Friday, 8:40am - 1:10pm
- Term time only + 1 Inset day (38.2 working weeks / 45 paid weeks per year.
- BANES Q (SCP 3 - 4) £24, 796 - £25, 185 FTE per annum, pro rata
- Actual salary from £11,567 - £11,748 per year
What we are looking for
Thank you for your interest in working at St Stephen’s Church School. We are looking for a highly organised and well-motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team to support a pupil and who:
- Has a good understanding of effective SEND practices and is prepared to reflect and develop;
- Is caring, patient and self-motivated;
- Places building positive relationships at the heart of what they do, provide encouragement and reassurance;
- Knowledge of (or an interest in learning about) emotion coaching techniques to support development of emotional literacy and regulation skills;
- An awareness of when to 'step in or step out' to help the child to develop their own capacity to learn;
- Be able to support social communication skills;
