We are looking for an enthusiastic all-round teacher to join our Art & Design Technology Faculty to teach Food Technology. We are open to September start dates or earlier if desired.

We welcome applicants from experience teachers, ECT's or experienced chefs looking for a new and rewarding career.

The faculty consists of Art, Photography, Design and Technology, Food Prep and Nutrition and Textiles. 

We believe in equipping our students with vital skills for their adult lives so that they can be creative, practical and innovative problem solvers. We want all students to develop confidence and skills in the practical environment and build and apply a repertoire of theory knowledge and understanding.

We have high expectations of ourselves and our students. Routines are embedded within our practice to ensure H&S guidelines and high standards of behaviour are met and thus creating a professional and friendly learning environment.

You will find the faculty a friendly and supportive group made up of professional and well-respected Educators.

In years 7 & 8 students have 1 x 100 minute lessons in Food and Nutrition, Textiles, Graphics (and CAD) then Resistant Materials (including elements of electronics) and Art. If they opt for our subjects in year 9 they have 2 x 100 minute lessons over two weeks. At GCSE we offer GCSE Food and Nutrition, GCSE Textile Art , GCSE Fine Art, GCSE Photography and GCSE Design Technology (this covers Resistant Materials, Product Design, Graphic Products, Computer Aided Design and Manufacture (CAD/CAM), and, to a lesser extent Electronics and Textiles).

The Art and Design Faculty are highly successful with the majority of students attaining on or above their target grade.

We are a successful 11–16 mixed comprehensive judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted and now on our journey to outstanding.
