Job Title:  Higher Level Teaching Assistant - SEMH (Level 3).

Actual Annual Salary:  £27,362 - £29,851 based on hours and weeks worked.

Full Time Equivalent Salary:  £31,954 - £34,860 (CLF Grade D) based on full time hours, all year round. 

Contract Type:  Permanent, Term Time Only plus inset days . 

Hours:  Full-Time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a creative SEMH HLTA who can lead our Nurture hub on a day-to-day basis.

Hans Price are very fortunate to have a separate Nurture hub that accommodates 10 students to work through the Nurture principles and supports students academically. The SEMH HLTA-Nurture Lead will line manage three teaching assistants and work alongside the SEMH Coordinator to support our students to access the curriculum whilst ensuring PACE is implemented at all times. The Nurture hub is fully accredited and has received recognition for its ongoing commitment to supporting students to transition to the main Hans Price building. We are looking for a caring and dedicated individual to build on the excellent foundations that have already been built by the team to expand further and provide a positive impact for more students across the academy.

About you: 

You will:  

  • have an understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and how a teaching assistant supports students in their learning.  
  • be able to engage students and manage behaviour on a one to one or small group basis.  
  • be committed to undertake relevant qualifications, e.g. relevant NVQ Level 2/ 3 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent, first aid qualification, to ensure ongoing professional development.  
  • happily engage with students and manage behaviour on a one to one or small group basis.  
  • have strong interpersonal skills, in particular with the ability to demonstrate empathy and active listening.  Practise good planning and organisational skills, specifically with regard to learning activities and support materials.  
  • be someone with a keen interest in working with children and commitment to inclusion and acceptance of all.
