We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated School Caretaker to join our team. This role is crucial to the smooth and efficient operation of our school. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive security and caretaking service, ensuring the health and safety of all users of the school site, and minimising the risk of damage to the school premises and resources.
Hours: 32.5 hours a week / 52 weeks a year. Term time hours are generally 7:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM. However, flexibility is essential. School holiday hours are more flexible, e.g., 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM. If additional hours are worked during term time, time off in lieu will be taken during school holidays. Must be available for emergencies outside of these hours.
Holiday Entitlement is 26 days’ holiday (prorated for part-time staff), rising to 28 days after 2 years' service and 31 days after 5 years’ service. Holidays are to be negotiated in advance with the Headteacher to minimise disruption to the school.

A positive demeanour and good communication skills to interact with pupils, staff, parents and visitors in a friendly manner.
Strong attention to detail (spotting things that need tidying or fixing).
Reliability and honesty to ensure the security of the site.
Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
Good organisational skills, so that works are planned over time to ensure a well maintained site.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Ability to oversee others in their work (eg contractors).
Physical stamina to perform lifting, carrying, fixing and general cleaning tasks throughout the day.
