We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our growing team at Woodford Primary School. To provide a high standard of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4 and 11 years old in a safe, secure and stimulating kids club environment. Furthermore, you will provide in class support for pupils to enable them to make progress as directed by the relevant teachers, delivering small group and one to one intervention programmes.

You will play a vital role in enhancing pupils progress whilst promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.

This position is contracted on a 12 hours per week + 5 days Term Time Only basis (7:30am-13:30pm). This means you will mainly work when the school is open to pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so. In total you will be in work for a minimum of 38 out of 52 weeks.

  • To support the learning, personal development and inclusion of pupils in accordance with the ethos and policies of the school. 
  • To provide supervision of pupils during the lunchtime period both in the dining area and during playground activities. 

Key Skills and Experiences

  • Sound Educational background including GCSE's in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent
  • Experience of working with young people who are vulnerable and/or who have a special educational needs
  • Experience working in a school environment would be an advantage
