The Governors of Risca CCS are delighted to advertise the position of Deputy Headteacher at the school.
Risca is a school with vast potential and it is starting to make progress after a challenging period of transition.
A new Headteacher was appointed in September 2023. The Senior Team was restructured after the school was placed in “Special Measures” following a monitoring visit in December 2023.
This is a key role for the school and it is a sole Deputy Headteacher role in a school with 650 pupils. Around 26% of pupils are eFSM. The improvement journey is underway and we received some positive feedback from Estyn after the last monitoring visit in June 2024. Governors and the LA are very supportive and have the highest expectations.
