About Learning Harmony Trust

We offer exciting opportunities to join a powerful, growing trust.

In the Learning in Harmony Trust, we work in harmony to achieve excellence for all. We believe that doing things in harmony means a commitment to working collaboratively and effectively using everyone’s strengths to meet a common aim. We do not follow a school-in-a-box model and instead work collaboratively at all levels within and across each school to maximise potential through continuous challenge and support.

We live and breathe our values and focus on doing things the right way, providing the perfect environment for all our children to flourish and succeed. And with a diverse range of schools in two contrasting locations, we offer a unique opportunity for professionals looking for a challenging and rewarding career in a supportive, creative and forward-thinking environment.

There are 9 schools in the Trust, split between the vibrant and multicultural City of London and the picturesque Essex coast. Our values unite us, and our differences provide more opportunities than challenges.

Our Vision

Working in harmony to achieve excellence for all

Our Mission

In the Learning in Harmony Trust, we believe that doing things in harmony means a commitment to working collaboratively and effectively using everyone’s strengths to meet a common aim. We do not follow a school-in-a-box model and instead work collaboratively at all levels within and across each school to maximise potential through continuous challenge and support.

Strong relationships built on a foundation of trust and honesty, coupled with high aspirations for all our learners, enable us to strive for excellence.

Support and challenge are at the heart of what we do and we have a relentless focus on the best possible outcomes for all our learners.

We believe in doing things the right way. We are not a top-down organisation and effective collaboration is at the heart of what we do.

Our schools are not identical and each has its own unique strengths. This approach enables us to continue our learning journey in a harmonious and rewarding way.

We strongly believe that learners flourish when they are well looked after. This starts with our staff, because happy staff perform at their best.

We also know that it is vital for us to nurture and grow the whole child, regardless of their background, to provide all with an opportunity to succeed.

We ensure that our actions are always underpinned by the best available research and we provide a safe environment that encourages our staff to continue to learn and take risks in their practice in our quest for excellence.
Our approach to professional development is bespoke and enabling and there are many opportunities to learn from other schools within and outside of the trust.

Interested in joining the Learning in Harmony Trust?

Why join us?

As an employer, we believe we are in a privileged position as we offer opportunities across very different settings, all full of excellent support and challenge.

We aim to recruit and retain high-quality teaching and non-teaching staff in order to maintain our success. If you are passionate about education and are seeking a new opportunity, at any level in your career development, here are some reasons to join us:

  • We believe that all staff have the potential to make an outstanding impact upon the learning of the pupils and all staff are entitled to a level of support and challenge that will empower them as educators, wherever they are in their career development. We are big on CPD and we have recently partnered with EdisonLearning and the Aspire Programme for school improvement and staff development.

  • Our schools are very different from each other, but all have extensive track record of successful training and development - and are great and dynamic places to be! Pop in for a visit and ask our staff about the mentoring and coaching available, and the socials!

  • We seek opportunities to explore alternative approaches to support recruitment, aid retention, and reward further staff that demonstrate high levels of impact on learning. A dedicated working party gets together regularly to think outside of the box and develop strategies to recruit and retain for all our schools.

  • As a Trust, we are also committed to at least matching the terms and conditions of staff in maintained schools. This work is carried out with a Joint Consultative Group that has been established with national and local Trade Unions (for both teaching and support staff).

  • We also have a dedicated working group that looks at staff welfare. All staff on payroll have access to a variety of free wellbeing and medical support provided by Schools Advisory Services, as well as to a comprehensive and exciting Employees Benefits Scheme through Perkbox

The Learning in Harmony Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A full DBS disclosure is required and this can be applied for once a job offer is made.

"Being part of the Learning in Harmony Trust has provided me with a network of support and challenge that has changed my role entirely. I’ve had the opportunity to review all of my back office functions in my own school, by learning about the work of others. I have also been given significant opportunities to broaden my experiences and to see the bigger picture, as well as progress in my career."
