Spread your wings and fly high!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cover Supervisor at our happy, thriving and ambitious school where staff wellbeing is a priority. You may already have experience of working in a primary classroom, be looking for a new opportunity or be considering a teaching career in the future.

We aspire to help every child in our care to develop as a whole person, to become confident, happy, independent, creative and adaptable, to love learning and to achieve more than they ever thought possible.  We have high expectations and aspirations for all our pupils and we never stop trying to find new ways of promoting learning and making improvements to our school.

Our busy school often needs extra help, whether it is to cover a teacher or LSA, or to support a specific child or to run an intervention. This role was created to ensure that we can deliver this seamlessly, confident that the person who goes in to help has knowledge of our school, its procedures, the classroom routines and the children. It's a varied role with opportunities to experience every year group; no two days will be the same.

The role is for 30 hours a week, term time plus INSETs with working hours being 8:30-15:30 Monday-Friday.

The successful candidate will:

  • have GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • have experience of working with children
  • have an understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
  • be able to communicate clearly with both adults and children
  • be flexible and self-motivated
  • be observant and adaptable
  • have a sense of humour

In return, we can offer you:

  • a happy school, with a hard-working, supportive and friendly team
  • exceptional standards of behaviour
  • children who love to learn and will always do their best
  • an inclusive environment
  • opportunities for continued professional development

Burpham Primary School is a school within the Learning Partners Academy Trust for children between the ages of four and eleven with a Specialist KS1 Communication and Interaction Needs Centre.
