Glebelands School - Finance Assistant

30 hours per week, Term Time plus two INSET days | Start date: July or September 2026

Glebelands School is a community secondary school for students aged 11 to 16 and part of Learning Partners Academy Trust. We are a school built on two simple but powerful words: respect and achieve. We don't apologise for our high expectations — of our students, our staff, or ourselves — and we are continually strengthening and improving everything we do. If you share that drive for doing things properly and doing them well, you'll fit right in.

Be the Numbers Behind the Mission.

Behind every well-resourced classroom, every school trip that runs like clockwork, every supplier invoice processed without a hitch — there's someone who made it happen. Carefully, accurately and without fuss. That could be you.

We're looking for a Finance Assistant who takes genuine satisfaction from getting the details right first time. You'll support our Finance Officer and School Business Manager in keeping our financial operations running smoothly and compliantly — processing purchase orders, managing supplier accounts, reconciling invoices and maintaining the kind of audit trails that would make any inspector smile.

But this role is broader than a desk and a spreadsheet. You'll also take ownership of the financial and administrative side of school trips — from obtaining transport quotes and monitoring sign-ups to preparing trip packs and liaising with Student Services. You'll manage our lettings bookings, raise invoices and ensure hirers meet our safeguarding requirements. And you'll process premises invoices, working closely with our Premises Supervisor to keep everything ticking along.

It's a varied, hands-on role that touches almost every corner of school life — and no two days will look quite the same.

You'll thrive here if you:

• Have strong numerical skills and a keen eye for accuracy

• Are confident using Microsoft 365, particularly Excel

• Stay calm, organised and ahead of deadlines even when priorities shift

• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, suppliers and families

• Bring a positive, collaborative attitude and a willingness to learn

What's in it for you?

We offer a friendly, professional team with a strong collaborative ethos, an excellent benefits package, Local Government Pension Scheme membership, a supportive senior leadership team, and training and development tailored to your needs — all within a rewarding role that makes a genuine difference to young people every day.

If you're someone who finds real satisfaction in a job done properly — and loves knowing that their work helps young people thrive — we'd really love to hear from you.

Interview date: to be confirmed - we will interview as applications are received, so please submit an early application.
