Job overview

Learning Partners Academy Trust is seeking a Finance Systems Support Officer to join our central finance team and support the effective use, development and optimisation of finance systems across the trust.

This is a key role supporting school‑based and central colleagues by resolving finance system and process queries, improving consistency of practice, and helping ensure that systems are used confidently, accurately and in line with trust expectations. The postholder will play an important part in supporting digital and process transformation, contributing to the successful rollout and ongoing development of finance and purchasing systems across our family of schools.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Transformation Manager, you will:

  • Provide hands‑on support for the Trust’s finance systems, acting as the key escalation point for system and process queries from schools and central teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues relating to purchasing, approval workflows, budget controls and reporting, support system configuration and optimisation, and play an active role in the rollout and development of new systems and enhancements.
  • Maintain system access and documentation, support training and guidance for users, liaise with system providers, and help ensure systems operate efficiently, securely and in line with trust policies and audit requirements.

(Please see the job description for full details on the role)

You will have:

  • You will be a detail‑focused and proactive individual with experience working in a finance or systems‑based environment, where accuracy, controls and data integrity are essential.
  • You will bring strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, confidence supporting colleagues with system or finance queries, and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical users.
  • You will be very comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and able to work collaboratively and independently in a busy environment.
  • Experience of finance, ERP or purchasing systems, and experience within a school, Multi‑Academy Trust or public sector setting, would be an advantage.
