An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Home School Link Worker at our happy, thriving and ambitious school where staff well-being is a priority.

We are seeking a HSLW who can be proactive in working alongside our staff and pupils to provide a secure link between home and school. A key part of the role is working preventatively with families, building capacity and signposting support and guidance.

The HSLW will be an integral part of the Pastoral Support Team (HSLW, ELSA, SENCo) working closely with all members of the school community and wider service providers.

This is a flexible, part-time role for 32 hours a week, term time only.

We are looking for a committed person who has:

  • A good standard of education, including Maths and English GCSE or equivalent (Grade C)
  • Experience of working within a school or similar setting
  • Knowledge of legislation and guidance on safeguarding
  • Ability to be a Deputy Designating Safeguarding Lead DDSL (or willingness to train)
  • Awareness of local and national agencies that provide support for children and their families
  • A skilled and effective communicator, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Competent IT skills
  • A commitment to support people in difficult circumstances with an open and non-judgemental approach
  • Confident to constructively challenge when needed
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Commitment to equality and anti-discriminatory practice
  • Ability to put in place professional boundaries
  • Willingness to work as part of a team

Burpham Primary School is a two-form entry primary school for children aged four to eleven within the Learning Partners Academy Trust, we also have a Specialist KS1 Communication and Interaction Needs Centre. We aspire to help every child in our care to develop as a whole person, becoming confident, happy, independent, creative and adaptable, to love learning and to achieve more than they ever thought possible.  Our experienced and well-established teaching team have high expectations and aspirations for all our pupils and we never stop trying to find new ways of promoting learning and making improvements to our school.
