Lead Science Technician

Hours: 30 hours per week (negotiable for the right candidate), term-time only

Salary: PS6 £26,610 - £29,199 per annum pro rata

 (30 hours per week equates to £19,241 - £21,113 per annum)

Start Date: As soon as possible

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead our Science Technicians and to support the science department in all aspects of practical work and demonstrations. We are a six-form entry school, teaching 1200 students and with growing numbers studying science at A level. Whilst the school has a relentless focus on high expectations and aspirations, we are proud to provide a happy and nurturing environment, so that as well as maturing into well-rounded, confident young people, our students develop a lifelong passion for learning.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an outstanding school (Ofsted 2017) in a supportive, friendly and motivated environment. The post requires a self-starter with initiative, patience and the ability to react to the requirements of the teaching team within the science department. We are committed to developing both students and staff to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will have good scientific knowledge and a desire to make a difference to students learning.
