Do you have a nurturing approach, high expectations and a particular interest in supporting children with additional needs?
If so, we would love to hear from you. As a learning support assistant you will work closely with teachers to support children across our Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes. You will provide support within the classroom, helping children to access learning, develop their independence and make progress. You will also have opportunities to work with children individually and in small groups, delivering targeted support and interventions. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who are passionate about supporting children with SEND. You may work alongside pupils who need additional support with their communication and language, learning, social and emotional development or other aspects of their development.
You will:
- support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning;
- work with individual children and small groups to reinforce learning;
- support children with SEND to access the curriculum and develop independence;
- deliver planned interventions under the direction of teachers and the SENDCo;
- support early reading, phonics, writing and mathematics;
- help children develop their communication, social and emotional skills;
- contribute observations and feedback to help teachers understand children's progress;
- support children during lunchtime and playtimes; and
- contribute to the wider life of our school.
You don't need to have worked in a school before. What matters most to us is that you are caring, reliable, enthusiastic and committed to helping children succeed. Experience of working with children or children with SEND would be an advantage.
