Midday Assistant
Job Purpose: Support the children to have a happy, safe and healthy lunch time.
Contractual Hours: 8.75 hours per week 11.30am – 1.15pm (Monday to Friday) – Term time only - 38 weeks per year
Salary: LPAT 1/2 - £12.97 per hour - £5,002.79 prorata per annum
Accountable to: Nursery Lead
Key Accountabilities and Key Tasks:
- Supervising the children at mealtimes
- Checks that all children are present.
- Ensures children have used the toilet and washed their hands before lunch.
- Encourages quiet behaviour and good table manners.
- Look after the needs of all the children.
- Ensures children remember ‘please’ and ‘thank you’
- Wipe down tables and ensure area is cleaned after lunch time
Supporting the School
- Is aware of and complies with the procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection; reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- Embraces the collective responsibility to make the school the best it can be.
- Liaises, advises and consults with colleagues.
- Takes responsibility for the care and organisation of shared resources, such as outdoor play and PE equipment.
- Attends relevant in service training and takes ownership of professional development.
