Premises Assistant

Full time/Part time (hours to be negotiated)

LP5: £25,541-£27,492

As soon as possible

We are seeking a motivated and reliable joint premises assistant to work across both George Abbot School and Burpham Primary School, which are within 0.9 miles. This is a full time or part time permanent position and your working hours will be split between George Abbot and Burpham Primary. Good communication skills and enthusiasm are a must and whilst previous experience of working in a school would be an advantage, it is not essential.

The successful applicant will contribute to maintaining the two school sites in a good state of repair, so would suit someone with good DIY skills. Other duties include but are not limited to; keeping the sites secure, statutory health and safety testing, monitoring stock levels of supplies, working with contractors, and always being proactive about keeping our schools looking good.

The role also requires the appointee to operate specialist equipment and undertake manual handling and physically demanding work. Training will be provided. At all times, the successful applicant will be an integral member of our premises teams, in a role that is pivotal to the successful running of the schools, enabling activities to take place in an environment suited to learning.

Please contact Georgie Newman, to organise a school tour or for an informal discussion about the role.

George Abbot School is an 11-18, mixed comprehensive, with an established reputation for high academic standards and exemplary pastoral care. Both schools are within easy reach of the town, the A3 and London Road railway station. We are an innovative school with strong progress outcomes at both GCSE and A Level. Burpham Primary School is a happy, thriving and ambitious school within the Learning Partners Academy Trust for children between the ages of four and eleven with a KS1 Specialist Centre for children with communication and interaction needs (COIN). Both schools look after our staff and are restless to serve our communities to the highest standard.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment. The successful applicant will be subjected to an enhanced DBS Check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of Learning Partners Academy Trust. We aspire to have a diverse and inclusive workforce and particularly welcome suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to join our trust.
