An opportunity has become available for a School Business Manager to join the friendly and supportive Senior Leadership Team at Burpham Primary School. The role is for 28 hours per week for 42 weeks of the year (term time plus INSETs plus three weeks) with days and times of attendance to be discussed with the successful candidate.
The School Business Manager provides strategic and operational support, leads and manages all aspects of business innovation, finance, facilities management, personnel, plus leadership of the administrative and premises staff. Excellent communication skills coupled with sound ICT knowledge and the ability to adapt are critical in this demanding but rewarding position. Being professional, approachable, efficient, creative and well-organised are essential criteria.
The successful candidate will have:
- experience of working in a business/finance environment at a strategic level
- a strong attention to detail
- excellent ICT skills include Microsoft applications and MIS systems
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- a willingness to be involved in school life
- the ability to interact positively with stakeholders at all levels
- a commitment to supporting well-being - their own and others'
- prior experience in a school setting and/or an accounting or SBM qualification are desirable but not essential

Burpham Primary School is a two-form entry school within the Learning Partners Academy Trust for children between the ages of four and eleven. Additionally, we have a Specialist KS1 SLCN Centre for children with speech, language and communication needs, which presents excellent opportunities for collaborative working with the SLCN team. The school was inspected in June 2025 and was found to have maintained the standard from the previous inspection in which it was judged Outstanding.
