National Careers Service Advisor- National Careers Service. (19+ students) Full time .37 hours per week. Maternity Cover One Year Fixed Term.
We have an exciting opportunity for a committed, highly motivated individual to join our National Careers Service Team. You will be providing impartial information, advice and guidance to our 19+ clients who will be current or prospective students, or members of the wider community. The service is currently funded through the National Careers Service contract.
As a Careers Advisor you will provide impartial careers information and guidance in a variety of formats including face to face 1:1 sessions, drop-ins, group presentations, telephone and online via teams (e-guidance). You will need to work well as part of a wider team with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of young people and mature clients from a variety of backgrounds.
You will have in depth knowledge of the National Careers Service delivery model, including action planning, and destination tracking and success monitoring. Knowledge and experience in career guidance preferably within an FE or community setting will be an advantage.
The successful candidate will have at least a Level 2 qualification in maths and English and ideally a Level 3 in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) or the willingness to undertake additional training as necessary.
We will provide you with a supportive working environment including regular 1:1’s and the opportunity to shadow and be mentored by colleagues from the wider team. A full induction and training package will be offered to enable you to be successful in your role. Post induction you will be subject to regular performance management and observations as part of our quality assurance processes both internally and by Futures, who currently hold the Department for Education National Careers Service contract for the East Midlands.
We are keen to reflect the community we serve and to provide opportunities for groups that are currently under represented at the College. We therefore actively encourage all suitable candidates to apply regardless of ethnicity, gender or disability.
