Leicester College's Apprenticeship and Commercial Operations Department (APCO) is one of the largest apprenticeship providers in the region with an ambitious vision for becoming a beacon of excellence in delivering apprenticeship programmes that positively shape the futures of all Leicester College apprentices.
We are looking to appoint a well-rounded and organised Technician to support the apprenticeship Construction areas. As the Construction Technician you will be responsible for ensuring practical classes are prepared for learning and ensure that areas are well kept and suitable for learning to take place. You will oversee stock taking and the ordering of materials, ensuring all resources and materials are well stocked and suitable. The role will include the setting up and overseeing of Apprenticeship end point assessments across a range of Apprenticeship courses. These include Carpentry, Bricklaying, Plastering, and Property Maintenance.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop their skills so that they can support our apprentices to be highly effective, make good progress and become competent in their chosen career. Supporting the team in the delivery of the programmes, typical tasks will include; wood machining, workshop maintenance, storage organisation, loading out of materials in preparation for classes and assessments, tool checking and maintaining. Apprenticeships now conclude with an End Point Assessment (EPA) and as a technician you will play a key role in these assessments by setting up, supporting the assessment and taking down the completed tasks.

Qualifications and Experience:
You must hold a Level 2 Vocational Qualification in Construction.
Competent on wood working machinery.
A minimum of Level 2 qualifications in maths and English or equivalent e.g. GCSE grade C or above, GCSE grade 4 or above.
