About the Role

Are you an organised, approachable, and proactive administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment where no two days are the same?

Leicester College is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Administrator to join our Childcare, Health, Sports and Sciences Department. Based at Abbey Park Campus, you will be the first point of contact for staff, employers and visitors, providing a professional and welcoming service whilst supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of one of the College's largest curriculum areas.

Working as part of a friendly and supportive administration team, you will provide high-quality administrative support across a range of programmes, in particular with the Childcare Programme Area Manager as well as supporting the Sporting Academies Coordinator. From welcoming visitors and responding to enquiries, to supporting curriculum staff with essential administrative processes, you will play an important role in helping our students and staff succeed.

This is a varied role requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise competing demands whilst maintaining a high standard of customer service. You will be confident using Microsoft Office applications and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a busy team.

Although based at Abbey Park Campus, you may occasionally be required to work across other College campuses to support operational needs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working with people and delivering excellent customer service
  • Has excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Communicates confidently and professionally, both in person and in writing
  • Can prioritise a varied workload and remain calm under pressure
  • Has good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Is proactive, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Has recent administration or customer service experience (education sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential)

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 2 qualification in IT (or equivalent experience using Microsoft Office applications)
  • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent)

For more details, please take a look at the role description. We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.

Interview date: 18 September 2026
