About the Role
Following the continued success and growth of our adult Employability programmes, we are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated Adult Mentoring and Support Officer to join our dedicated team.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in people's lives by providing academic, pastoral, mentoring, wellbeing, financial and learning support to unemployed adult learners, both on a one-to-one basis and within group settings.
Our Employability provision supports adult students aged 19+ through intensive, full-time programmes lasting between three and six weeks, helping them to develop the confidence, skills and resilience needed to progress into employment or further learning.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting others, able to build positive relationships quickly, and committed to helping learners overcome barriers that may have prevented them from achieving their goals. If you are resourceful, adaptable, enjoy working as part of a supportive team and are willing to go the extra mile for learners, this could be the perfect role for you.
The successful candidate will have recent experience of working with adults and delivering a range of effective support interventions. You will play a key role in motivating and empowering learners, helping them to develop confidence, raise aspirations and achieve positive outcomes.
You will also design and deliver engaging workshops tailored to individual learner needs, providing practical support and encouragement to some of the most disadvantaged members of our community as they take their next steps towards employment.
To succeed in this role, you will need excellent organisational skills, a flexible and proactive approach, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have:
Level 2 English and maths qualification
Level 3 Qualification
A good level of general IT skills
Experience of providing a wide range of support to adults.
Candidates will be expected to attend ongoing training and development activities to maintain and develop their skills in providing support.
