An exciting opportunity has arisen within our thriving Construction Department following an internal promotion. We are seeking a passionate and motivated person working within the  Electrical Installation field to join our team. Whether you're an experienced educator or new to teaching, if you have a strong background in Building Services Engineering (Electrical Installation), we’d love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will ideally be able to deliver a range of core subjects, including:

Electrical Installation Techniques across Industrial, Commercial, and Domestic settings

Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations

Construction Design Principles

Construction Maintenance Principles

Health & Safety in the Construction Environment

A broad understanding of the wider Construction sector would be advantageous, as would a commitment to inspiring the next generation of industry professionals.

The successful applicant will teach across a range of full time and part time programmes to students typically studying from Level 1 to Level 3 including Construction T-Levels (core and occupational specialisms) based on prior industrial/teaching experience.

Qualifications needed for this role:

 A relevant Electrical Installation based Level 3 qualification or equivalent and/or be able to demonstrate significant industrial experience in the Electrical Installation field. 

Level 2 in maths and English (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent) as a minimum.

The key responsibilities of the role include delivering theoretical and practical knowledge developing and implementing improvements to support learning, plus managing and conducting assessments in line with awarding organisation guidelines. Ensuring student progress is tracked and maintained on College IT systems, and that retention and achievement levels are maintained and improved.

Previous experience of working in a training environment or of working with young people is desirable but not essential as support is available for exceptional candidates yet to achieve qualified teacher status who are able to demonstrate commitment to developing others. An ability to demonstrate appropriate IT skills will be required including working remotely to provide distance learning and support to cohorts of students as required.
