An exciting opportunity has opened in Supported and Inclusive Learning (SAIL) at Leicester College for a full time Learning Coach.
We are passionate about Preparation for Adulthood and about ensuring that young people with inclusion needs develop the skills and confidence for increasingly independent lives and employment. We are looking for people who shares this motivation and is fully committed to inclusive practice. Our full-time students are aged from 16-25 and follow personalised learning programmes including English and maths, social skills, life skills, work skills and personal development.
You will provide support for learners to be successful at college and progress to positive destinations, working with parent/carers, outside agencies and employers.
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, passion, and motivation to provide the highest quality service to all our learners in creative and individual ways.
Key responsibilities include:
The facilitation of Personal Development sessions, group and individual tutorials
Setting and reviewing of SMART targets
Monitoring, and supporting attendance and punctuality
Supporting learners with enrichment opportunities
You will have the ability to be calm and responsible and be able to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of learners. Liaison with other colleagues and external stakeholders is a key feature of the role.
You must have the following:
- Level 2 qualifications in maths and English or equivalent GCSEs (e.g. GCSE grade C or above, GCSE grade 4 or above)
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
- Recent and relevant experience of working with young people.
