Learning Support Workers. Term Time Only. 38 weeks per year. Various permanent positions. 18 hours per week up to 32 hours per week. 

 

At Leicester College we do our best to ensure all students are engaged with learning and able to progress to their potential. We work with students who require a range of support to fully access the curriculum and the college environment. This could be supporting a group or providing 1:1 support to an individual student, both in the classroom and/or in the community. 

We have positions available for those who are passionate about engaging and inspiring young people who have learning disabilities and who have a range of special educational needs that may include autism, health, physical, emotional, and behavioural support needs. The role may also include assisting students with personal care, eating, drinking, administering medication and pushing wheelchairs.

We are looking for applicants who understand the role of support within education, have a commitment to enabling students and developing their communication and independence skills.

You will be highly motivated, flexible, able to work as a team and use your own initiative. You will have good communication skills to work with teachers and other support workers and provide feedback on student progress. 

The successful applicants will:

Hold or be willing to work towards Level 2 English and maths qualification or equivalent GCSE Grade C and above or GCSE grade 4 or above

Hold or be willing to work towards a Learning Support or Health and Social Care Level 2 qualification.
