Join our Supported and Inclusive Learning team and make a real difference to the lives of young people with learning difficulties. This is an exciting opportunity to help learners develop the skills, confidence and independence they need to progress towards employment and adult life. 

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to teach within our Learning for Work provision. Working as part of an established and supportive team, you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment that motivates and inspires learners to achieve their full potential.

You will support young people with learning difficulties, including those who may present challenging behaviours, helping them to develop the skills needed to participate meaningfully in their communities and future careers.

The role includes:

  • Delivering Functional Skills Maths and English from Entry Level 1 to Level 1.
  • Planning and delivering engaging learning activities that meet individual learner needs.
  • Assessing progress and supporting learners to achieve their goals.
  • Contributing to a developing and enriching curriculum, with opportunities to teach additional subjects.

What You'll Need

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • A Level 5 teaching qualification or above, or a willingness to work towards achieving one. Support will be provided by the College as part of our commitment to professional development.
  • A Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant vocational area.
  • Level 2 qualifications (or equivalent) in Maths and English, such as GCSE Grade 4/C or above.
  • Experience of supporting young people with learning difficulties, including those who may present challenging behaviours.
  • A passion for helping learners develop independence, confidence and employability skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience of teaching within a Further Education environment.

Applicants will be required to hold a full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or be willing to work towards obtaining one. If you do not hold a suitable teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain this as part of our investment in your professional development.
