Part Time Lecturer in Hair. Sessional hours.

An opportunity has arisen within our Hair and Beauty department to recruit dynamic and enthusiastic sessional Lecturer in Hair to start in the new academic year. This is a great opportunity to join an exciting, creative and well-resourced department at Leicester College. Your role will be to teach a range of students across different levels and courses, which includes Levels 1 through to Level 3.

The successful candidate will hold a minimum Level 4 in the vocational area as well as a minimum Level 2 qualification in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent). You will also be Fully Teacher qualified e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE or be willing to work towards obtaining a teaching qualification. Successful applicants who do not already hold a teaching qualification, will be supported in gaining the required Qualified Teacher in Learning and Skills status. If you have a degree or equivalent industrial experience in Hair this would be an advantage.

You will also have the ability to work as part of a team and undertake teaching duties including; planning and preparation of lessons, maintenance of workshops, and to provide consistent and reliable support that enables students to develop their skills and knowledge. The successful candidate will have a range of teaching experience in Hair as well as excellent communication skills and a ‘can do’ approach to tasks. Experience of working with students would also be beneficial.
