Programme Area Manager. Supported and Inclusive Learning. Full Time (37 hours per week). Permanent.
Are you passionate about the teaching and development of young adults with learning disabilities? Do you believe that each student has the right to an outstanding education in which their preferences, interests and abilities are acknowledged and respected? This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who will drive forward our specialist provision for young people with learning disabilities. Supported and Inclusive Learning is a specialist department, within a general further education college, for young adults aged 16-25 who have moderate, severe or profound and complex needs. We run three programmes, Life Skills, Work Skills and Sensory Skills, that are designed to prepare students for active lives, increasing the opportunities available to them through increased independence. We operate from two sites including purpose built premises for our sensory skills provision and dedicated teaching areas for our life skills and work skills provision. We are seeking to appoint an innovative Programme Area Manager to develop provision at one of the sites and lead a team of teachers and support staff, together with a small teaching commitment.
We believe that all of our students are capable of making outstanding progress and we want to appoint an individual who shares our belief. We are looking for a strong, resilient leader who is professional, reliable and committed to improving the education and outcomes for young adults with special educational needs. You will be able to inspire the team to deliver outstanding results.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, hold a full teaching qualification, demonstrate a good understanding of quality assurance and data management and will have a background and experience of outstanding teaching, learning and assessing students with learning disabilities in a college, special school or supported learning environment. You will have strong leadership skills and experience of managing people. The ability to manage data systems and processes are also essential for this post.
