An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Programme Lead within the Childcare, Health, Sports and Sciences department, (CHSS).  We are a well-established team with a strong ethic of teamwork.  The current postholder has taken advantage of an exciting six-month opportunity to develop her knowledge of practice in health and early years around the world.  Consequently, we need a highly experienced, dedicated and motivated Level 1 lecturer, who can also programme lead, to start the new academic year until the permanent post holder returns. The post will be based at our Abbey Park Campus, with a projected start date of August 17th 2026.

Teaching Level 1 students can be extremely challenging while also incredibly rewarding and you will need to be invested in supporting these young people to achieve success.  The role combines teaching with programme leadership, including delivering an established Level 1 curriculum, supporting students with complex needs or behavioural challenges, monitoring attendance, managing behaviour, and working closely with parents, carers, external agencies, and the Programme Area Manager to meet course and departmental objectives.

Applicants must have strong FE teaching experience, particularly with Level 1 and 16–19 learners and be confident, resilient and have outstanding classroom management skills.

The successful applicant will need to have the following qualifications:

  • Qualified to at least a Level 3 (or equivalent) in a vocationally relevant sector
  • Teaching qualification at Level 5 or above is essential and required
  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification (grade C or above or grade 4 or above) in maths and English

Further it would be beneficial to have experience of using Microsoft packages which includes the following: One Drive, Teams and Class Notebook, EBS Shape and EBS registration.

There will be times when you will be required to work flexibly and on occasions on evenings and a Saturday but you will be given these dates well in advance.
