An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Engineering Department for an experienced and highly motivated Programme Lead (Further Education). We welcome applications from candidates with a background in mechanical engineering, electrical/electronic engineering, or aeronautical engineering disciplines.
Applicants will be required to deliver and lead Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 engineering programmes, aligned to their specialist expertise. Teaching may include a range of technical and applied units within electrical/electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, or aeronautical engineering.
The successful applicant will teach and lead provision across full-time and part-time engineering Further Education programmes, supporting learners typically aged 16–19 and adult learners. The role has a strong focus on inclusion, learner progress, retention, achievement, and progression, alongside the effective coordination of study programmes.
We are seeking an individual with a strong Engineering specialism gained through industry and/or teaching experience. The Programme Lead will work closely with the Programme Area Manager and curriculum team to manage and monitor programmes, oversee course data, and plan provision that maximises learner outcomes, funding and resources. The role includes responsibility for ensuring that learner progress is accurately tracked using college systems, maintaining strong retention and achievement, and leading on systems and processes that support high-quality delivery and continuous improvement.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong track record of high-quality teaching and learning, alongside experience of curriculum leadership, internal verification, standardisation and course performance review using quality and performance indicators. Experience of quality processes and awarding organisation requirements is highly desirable.

You will hold the following:
Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent).
Minimum Level 4/5 Engineering qualification (HNC/HND or above)
Full Teacher qualification Level 5 or above e.g.
Diploma in Education and Training, Cert Ed, PGCE
or equivalent
