Are you an experienced Electrical Installation professional with a passion for developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople? Do you have experience teaching in the FE sector and are you ready to take the next step in your career into course programme leadership? Is so, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FE lecturer to develop their leadership experience while making a positive impact on student outcomes and the future workforce.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Programme Lead Lecturer to join our successful Construction team. This role combines high-quality teaching with course programme leadership responsibilities, providing an exciting opportunity to use your industry knowledge and teaching expertise to lead and develop Electrical Installation provision.

What you'll be teaching

As Programme Lead, you will take responsibility for leading and delivering programmes from Level 1 to Level 3, including Construction T Levels, with teaching focused on key areas of Building Services Engineering (Electrical), drawing on your industry expertise and teaching experience. You will contribute to the delivery of a range of subjects, including:

Inspection and Testing

Construction Design Principles

Construction Maintenance Principles

Health & Safety in Construction

A wider understanding of the construction sector would be advantageous.

About the role

Alongside delivering engaging lessons, you will work closely with the Programme Area Manager to:

Lead and coordinate programmes to successful completion

Monitor learner progress, attendance, retention and achievement

Support quality assurance, internal verification and standardisation activities

Develop and improve curriculum systems, processes and resources

Analyse course performance data and contribute to curriculum planning

Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to enhance learning opportunities and progression pathways

What we're looking for

We welcome applications from candidates with substantial experience in lecturing and industry practice within Electrical Installation and Building Services Engineering, who are looking to take the next step in their career and pursue a course leadership opportunity.

Essential Qualifications

You must hold:

A minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical

A full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above, such as:

Diploma in Education and Training (DET)

Cert Ed

PGCE

or equivalent

Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent)

Desirable Qualifications

Assessor qualification

Internal Quality Assurance (IQA)/Verifier qualification, or willingness to work towards these qualifications
