Leicester College has two Day Nurseries offering a total of 75 places that provide high quality and inclusive integrated care and education to the children of students and employees of the College. This position is based at Freemen’s Park Campus. 

We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive and creative but organised person to support the nursery manager and deputy to run our provision and ensure the best outcomes for our children and families.  

You will assist in the administration and operation of the childcare provision on a day to day basis. You will work alongside the Nursery Manager and Deputy to ensure that practise and provision in the nursery meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, including overseeing planning and record keeping. You will be proficient in using computers. 

You will role model and promote the setting's philosophy and ethos, showing empathy, tolerance and kindness. You will assist in mentoring and supervising staff and trainees to support an environment for child-led, play-based learning. 

You must have recent supervisory experience in a day nursery setting, a good knowledge of Ofsted requirements for Early years, and of relevant policies and procedures in a nursery setting. It is essential for you to have awareness of issues relating to Child Protection, Safeguarding, Health & Safety, the General Data Protection Regulation and the Prevent Duty. 

You must have the following:

Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent

Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent)

First Aid certificate

You will be a good communicator who is highly motivated and enthusiastic and able to promote positive relationships with parents/carers, children, and colleagues both internal and external.
