Are you passionate about supporting young people to develop practical skills in food and nutrition? Do you have a keen eye for safety, organisation, and detail?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Design & Technology Technician to join our friendly and supportive DT department. This key role will primarily involve supporting food and nutrition lessons, helping to ensure that classes run smoothly, safely, and effectively. There may also be occasional support required in resistant materials.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food lessons
Maintaining food rooms to high standards of hygiene and safety
Ordering and managing food stock and supplies
Supporting staff and students during practical lessons
Assisting with general departmental technical duties as needed
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working in a practical or technical environment (ideally in food tech or catering)
Understands food hygiene and health & safety requirements
Is organised, reliable, and able to work independently
Enjoys working as part of a team and supporting students’ learning
A food hygiene qualification is desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
