Student Counsellors

Trainee and/or Voluntary

Trust Based – Covering Richard Taunton College, Southampton and St Vincent College, Gosport

The Lighthouse Learning Trust recognizes the challenges being faced by young people in terms of their mental health needs in the current times, and we are pleased to invite you to join our Counselling Services Team for students studying at one of the Trusts education establishments.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Counselling Student and/or Volunteer to help us shape our Counselling Service and work collaboratively and proactively alongside other paid and volunteer counsellors.

As a Student Counsellor Trainee or Volunteer Counsellor, you will be providing counselling sessions and interventions with college students in one or both of our sites and will be supported by our Lead Student Counsellor. We will help you achieve your learning objectives as well as appreciate your valuable input as an integral part of Counselling Services Team.

Ideally, you should:

- Have a strong desire to help and improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people

- Have an innovative approach to mental health interventions

- Believe in the power education has to change lives

The successful candidate will need to hold a BACP approved counselling qualification or be working towards one. For further information on the role, please review the job description.

All successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure
