The Littlehampton Academy is seeking to recruit a generalist human resources practitioner to support the HR function of the academy.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone who has recently achieved, or is working towards, a CIPD qualification.
The role includes responsibility for managing the recruitment process, including placing adverts, inviting shortlisted candidates and requesting references, as well as maintaining the HR database, issuing contracts and submitting payroll data.
The successful candidate will:
- have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
- work confidently with data in various formats
- recognise the prime importance of maintaining confidentiality
Although the core hours are term-time only, some additional hours may be required during academy holiday periods, for which additional payment or time off in lieu will be given.
The Littlehampton Academy is a large secondary academy with around 1400 students and more than 160 staff. Colleagues are welcoming and highly supportive and we provide an extensive and flexible CPD programme.
This permanent position is 37 hours per week and term time only (38 weeks per year). Part-time will be considered. The initial rate of pay is the equivalent of £12.20 per hour, paid monthly over 12 months. The pay scale has six spinal points and increments are awarded in September until the top of the pay scale is reached. The actual starting salary (37 hours) is £19,643 per annum.
