About the role

We are looking to appoint a caring and professional SEND Teacher to join our team at Llangattock School Monmouth. You’ll have an enthusiasm for supporting learners with differentiated needs, providing learning support with a positive and inclusive outlook, and managing sometimes complex behaviours within a structured learning environment to ensure differently-abled learners can reach their full potential.


Key Responsibilities for a SEN Teacher

● To ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made

● To plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons, demonstrating outstanding teaching and learning

● To contribute to our culture of continual improvement and high standards in teaching through coaching, team-teaching, and demonstrating excellence

● To ensure effective pastoral care of all children in the school including - wellbeing is our first core aim

● To ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the core curriculum subjects

● To identify strategies to overcome individual pupils’ barriers to learning

● To contribute to the Annual Review of EHCPs

● To attend PEP reviews, if necessary.


Essential Requirements for a SEN Teacher

Qualification and Experience

● Qualified Teacher Status

● Degree qualification or equivalent

● An excellent teacher

● Experience as a KS2/KS3/KS4 teacher

● The ability to teach across a range of curriculum subjects, including English, Maths and Science
