Position Overview:
As a lecturer in Catering and Hospitality, you will be expected to assist with the effective planning and organisation of Catering and Hospitality programmes and teach on a range of Catering and Hospitality related courses with students of varying abilities and ages teaching across a range of levels and awarding bodies, including L1, L2 and L3 courses as well as working with Gateway and City and Guilds. They should be willing to assist the Curriculum Manager with the curriculum development and the expansion and development of the department as well as the promotion of Catering and Hospitality and other courses in the Service Industries curriculum areas and participate in marketing events as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
The successful candidate will be qualified or working towards a teaching qualification. Have teaching or training experience in a relevant subject at Catering L3 or degree Level, with a minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy, and Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or working towards).
The candidate would need to demonstrate their ability to articulate clearly and to be understood in a range of teaching situations. Be a team player with good communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, students, parents and external bodies. They should also demonstrate efficient administration skills to support good student record-keeping. Have an energy and enthusiasm for working in a rapidly changing environment and the ability to demonstrate flexibility in working practices using a wide range of teaching aids, including ILT as applicable.
