We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic English teacher to join us at Backwell School. The successful candidate will have strong experience as an English teacher and the knowledge and experience of teaching English at all key stages would be highly beneficial but it is not essential.

This is a part-time (c.0.7FTE) position from 3 January 2023 on a fixed term contract until 21 July 2023.

Our English Department is a strong and very committed team of 12 teachers. They are good humoured with a robust team ethic working collaboratively to develop the curriculum, ensure that schemes of work and interventions are effective and that our students make the best possible progress.

Backwell School is part of the Lighthouse Schools Partnership. This offers us curriculum collaboration and support opportunities with Chew Valley and Gordano School. We also have a Trust wide Professional Development Team organising a wide range of staff training and development. Our Trust values excellence and collaboration and has a key focus on staff development will deliver exciting and effective learning to our children and young people.
