Teaching Assistant

Salary: Grade JG3 SCP 5-6 (£19,312-£19,698) pro rata

Contract Types: Permanent – subject to continued EHCP funding

Hours: Part time, initially 32.5 hours Monday to Friday – please see below (some lunch time supervision will be required)

Applications are invited from highly caring, motivated, resourceful and committed teaching assistants to provide support for a delightful Y4 child with Battens Disease at East Harptree School.

This role will include working collaboratively with another teaching assistant and under the direction of the class teacher, the schools’ SENDCO, parents and outside agencies.

The ability to work independently and to personalise learning environments is essential. Experience of working with children with special educational needs is necessary as is experience in at least one of the following: speech and language, physical and/or therapeutic interventions. Health and care support will be required. Manual handling and paediatric first aid training would be highly desirable. Other training specific to this role will be provided.

This appointment will take effect as soon as possible.

The Collaboration of East Harptree and Ubley CofE Primary Schools consists of two small village schools situated in the Chew Valley. The successful candidate would become part of a friendly, hard-working collaborative team and have the opportunity of working with a child who is full of fun, loves to socialise, sing, play and enjoys being an important member of East Harptree Primary School.
