Careers Advisor & Coordinator

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 21 hours a week during term time, plus 5 inset days, equating to 45.8 working weeks a year to include 2 results days in the summer holidays with time off given in lieu

Salary: Grade JG7 £35,412 to £38,220 – the pro rata equivalent based on 21 hours and 45.8 working weeks is £17,653.77 to £19,053.63

The role:

Backwell School has a fantastic opportunity for a Careers Advisor & Coordinator role to join us on a permanent basis from March 2026.

The successful post holder will provide and oversee the delivery of impartial, high-quality Careers Advice, including individual interviews and action planning for students. 

You will build and maintain strong links with employability contacts, businesses, and FE/HE providers, as well as lead key annual events like Careers Fairs and Mock Interviews; Manage Careers funding, the Careers website and Careers bulletins.

The post holder will monitor destinations data (NEET risk), review and update the Personal Development Careers content across Years 7-13 and support key information evenings and results days.
