Fixed Term, Part-time

Covering Maternity Leave

School: Backwell C of E Junior School

Hours: 13 hours - Part-Time

 2 days Thursday & Friday.

Contract: Fixed term (covering maternity leave)

Start Date: 20th April 2026 to 18th April 2027 or earlier if the postholder returns to work

Salary: M1 – M6 (£32,916 - £45,352)

 Pro Rata (£13,166 - £18,140)

The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate as KS2 classteacher to support children at Backwell Juniors from Term 5 to cover maternity leave.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant Infant or Primary experience across a range of year groups.

• A proven track record as an outstanding and inspirational classroom teacher with a commitment to improving the quality of children’s learning.

• Experience of Phase Leadership.

• A clear understanding of the importance of using data to raise standards.

• Evidence of excellent provision for all pupils and who has a proven track record of achieving high standards of pupil progress.

• A proven ability to lead a team successfully.

• Experience of successful participation to a team approach to management including the management of change.

• Experience in and understanding of safeguarding procedures.

• A creative vision for education and the passion and skills to deliver it.

• The ability to maintain effective relationships between pupils, parents, staff and the community.
